David Moyes discusses whether West Ham will recall Diangana from loan at West Brom
West Ham’s newly-appointed manager David Moyes has admitted there’s a possibility Grady Diangana can be recalled from his loan spell at West Brom in January.
Diangana, 21, has been a key player since joining the Baggies on loan from the Hammers in the summer, scoring five goals and supplying six assists in 19 Championship appearances.
The England Under-21 international has been so pivotal to Albion’s season that in the six games he has missed since joining the club, Slaven Bilic’s men have failed to pick up a win.
That was true on New Years Day when a Diangana-less West Brom drew 1-1 against title rivals Leeds.
It was thought that the 21-year-old would have recovered from his recent injury setback to play in that fixture but now it seems there is a chance he could have played his final game in West Brom’s colours.
After West Ham defeat Bournemouth on Wednesday, new boss Moyes discussed Diangana’s loan at The Hawthorns.
“He’s a really good player. It’s a decision we’ll make as January goes on. Playing in a team at the top of the league can do the boy a world of good. If we need him, there’s no problem bringing him back,” said Moyes on Wednesday, as quoted by BT Sport commentator James Fielden via his personal Twitter account.
West Brom fans are going to go through the motions in the next couple of weeks.
West Ham have the first two weeks of the window to recall Diangana but if they do not terminate his loan by then, he will remain a Baggies player until the summer.
Bilic needs Diangana badly.
We cannot be having another scenario similar to what happened with Harvey Barnes this time last year.
In other West Brom news, fans blasted this player for his display against Leeds.
