Sky Sports pundit: This is how many signings West Brom need if promoted
West Brom are currently sitting pretty in the top two of the Championship at this moment in time.
The Baggies hold a nine-point gap to Brentford in third place, and they have a number of players to thank for that.
Matheus Pereira, Romaine Sawyers, and Grady Diangana are just three of the men helping Salven Bilic’s side to continually pick up points even against the run of play in games.
Darren Bent has recently commented on West Brom’s squad, sharing that he believes it is largely ready for the Premier League should they earn promotion this season.
“There’s a couple of them who could make the step up to the Premier League, there’s a fair few of them,” the Sky Sports pundit told Football Insider.
“Pereira, he’s got great feet, can play that number ten role. I’m a big fan of his, he seems to be getting better and better, I think he’s got the right manager who really believes in him.
“When you’ve got Romaine Sawyers in there behind you protecting you, it makes you play. I think if West Brom do go up, yeah they have to add one or two but they’ve got the nucleus of a team who can compete in the Premier League.”
There are certain concerns so Bent is spot on with his comments on the squad. Bilic is yet to find a striker who has cemented himself in the side by scoring goals consistently – something which will be vital in the top flight.
West Brom have struggled with the absence of Diangana too, so a couple of wingers to deal with a possible recurrence of that could go a long way at the Hawthorns.
