PL club enquire about West Brom defender – report
Crystal Palace have made an enquiry about West Brom defender Nathan Ferguson, according to the Daily Mail.
Ferguson, 19, has burst onto the scene at The Hawthorns this season with some very impressive performances but Albion run the risk of losing the teenager for a minimal compensation fee in the summer.
Ferguson’s contract is due to expire at the end of the season. West Brom’s technical director Luke Dowling has recently assured fans that he is confident a new deal can be agreed with the full-back but since then, it does not appear as though there has been any progress made.
The Mail now claims that Palace have made contact with West Brom about a potential move for Ferguson this month as Roy Hodgson aims to sign a new right-back.
Ferguson can play anywhere in the defence and his versatility has come in handy for the Baggies this season.
It does seem as though Palace are more likely to sign Kyle Walker-Peters on loan from Tottenham at this point.
The newspaper claims that Walker-Peters is set to join the Eagles on a six-month loan, and that could mean that there is one less team who could snatch Ferguson away from The Hawthorns this month.
In other West Brom news, Albion have held talks with the agent of a Turkey international.
