Sky Sports pundit predicts West Brom clash v Charlton

Sky Sports pundit David Prutton has predicted that West Brom will win 2-1 against Charlton at The Valley on Saturday.

Slaven Bilic has not seen his side win in their last four Championship fixtures but they remain nine points clear of third-placed Brentford as them and Leeds United fight over the top two spots in the league.

However the Baggies will be boosted by their 1-0 FA Cup win against Charlton last weekend and will want to carry that form into their upcoming trip to The Valley.

Lee Bowyer’s side has shown an alarming dip in form lately and ex-Leeds midfielder Prutton cannot see anything but an away win this weekend.

“Charlton are sliding towards the relegation zone and Lee Bowyer needs to get some players through the door in January, that will be a huge focus for him,” he said on the Sky Sports website.

“West Brom had a really poor festive season, failing to win in their last four Championship games. This is a good chance for them to get back to winning ways.”

We cannot sound overconfident going into this game because West Brom have dropped a lot of points against bottom-half teams this season.

However with the injury issues that have plagued Charlton and the fact that a second-string Baggies team won there last week, you would imagine this would be a straightforward win for Bilic’s men.

Charlton could be boosted by their change of leadership in the boardroom, but you would think that the quality of the two tams on the pitch would be the biggest factor in this Championship fixture.
