‘Gutted’ – Bilic left spitting feathers at ‘Awful’ moment in West Brom draw v Charlton

West Brom failed to take advantage of Leeds slipping up on Saturday as they drew 2-2 with Charlton.

The Baggies took the lead twice but were pegged back on both occasions. Slaven Bilic’s men did return to the top of the Championship with a one-point gap, but they surely can’t help but think it should be three.

Bilic was left furious after game, and left the Valley spitting feathers at the goals his side managed to concede in the draw.

“If you concede those two goals, then it’ll be unlikely that you leave the field unpunished. Simple as that,” he told the Birmingham Mail.

“We’d have been gutted if they had scored a couple of screamers, but not this. I would’ve been more happy if it had been like last time when they were given that penalty (at The Hawthorns) in the 95th minute, but not like this.

“The second one is like…what? The second one is an awful one, to be fair.”

It was Kyle Bartley who was the spare man in the box for the Baggies, and he was beaten far too easily by an onrushing Tom Lockyer for Charlton to equalise.

The Baggies’ clean-sheet record will be becoming a real concern for Bilic, who clearly didn’t feel like holding back on his side after the draw on Saturday.
