West Brom are in the market for a new striker this month and Huddersfield's Karlan Grant is the latest to reportedly emerge on the Baggies' radar.

The Birmingham Mail reported on Wednesday that Albion are plotting a move to sign Grant, 22, in the current transfer window after being impressed by his goalscoring form this season.

Grant has scored 12 goals and supplied four assists in 27 Championship appearances since Huddersfield's relegation from the Premier League.

One of those goals came against West Brom at The Hawthorns in September when Slaven Bilic's side ran out 4-2 winners against the Terriers.

Grant is a good young striker who also has the ability to play out on the left-wing so signing the former Charlton attacker could effectively kill two birds with one stone.

Bilic should be eyeing up some extra depth in the wide positions as well as up front, even if West Ham do not recall Grady Diangana from his loan spell in the Black Country.

Grant is better suited to playing as a striker and the fact that he is only 22 means that he can still improve in the future and could be a viable option in the Premier League if West Brom are promoted.

After joining Huddersfield from Charlton for £2million last January, Grant ended as the Yorkshire club's top goalscorer for last season and scored four goals in 13 Premier League appearances - which is not terrible for a youngster who made the step up from League One.

If Huddersfield are willing to do business with West Brom, Grant could be a decent addition to Bilic's attacking options.
