Reliable journalist has gut feeling that West Brom will sign 27-year-old international

Express & Star journalist Joseph Masi has a gut feeling that West Brom will sign Mislav Orsic from Dinamo Zagreb before the January transfer window closes.

Slaven Bilic confirmed in a press conference earlier this week that he is interested in signing the 27-year-old Croatia international this month [Express and Star] but could not offer any assurances that a deal would happen.

Croatian news outlet Sportske Novosti has reported that West Brom are willing to offer up to £6million to sign Orsic, who has scored 19 goals and supplied five goals in 26 appearances across all competitions this season.

When asked if he felt a deal for Orsic would get done, Masi gave a promising response.

“I think it will. I don’t think Bilic would have spoke how he did yesterday if there wasn’t a really good chance. But I do think there are other wide players Bilic likes that we don’t know about. I can’t be 100 per cent sure Orsic is top of the list,” he said via his personal Twitter account on Friday afternoon.

Orsic is a player that West Brom could do with – especially if West Ham recall Grady Diangana from his loan spell at The Hawthorns.

Diangana has spent the season playing on the left-wing for Wets Brom and while Orsic can play on the right or as a centre-forward, he is predominantly a left-sided attacker.

It does not mean that Albion should avoid Orsic if Diangana remains at the club.

Orsic is clearly a player that Bilic has taken a liking too and his form in the Croatian top-flight and Champions League, where he scored a hat-trick against Atalanta, suggest that the Dinamo ace is a player who is worth signing regardless.
