‘MOTM’, ‘Our best player’ – Some West Brom fans rave about one man after loss v Stoke

Darnell Furlong seems to be the only player who impressed West Brom fans on Twitter in the 1-0 defeat against Stoke at The Hawthorns on Monday night.

It was an abysmal display by the Baggies, who arguably put in their worst performance since Slaven Bilic’s arrival as manager in the summer.

Stoke took the lead early on when Tyrese Campbell capitalised on some horrific defending but barely threatened again after that as West Brom launched hopeless attack after hopeless attack.

It was a performance devoid of quality and any sort of creativity and although Stoke did little to prove they were worthy winners, Albion got exactly what they deserved for their efforts.

Furlong, 24, was just about the only player who could hold his head up high after that match.

He was by no means at his best but he was certainly one of the least worst players that West Brom had on the pitch.

The former QPR right-back won an impressive nine aerial duels, made one key pass and completed three crosses – more than he has managed in a league match all season [WhoScored].

Furlong has proven to be a good signing for West Brom, it is just a shame that most of his team-mates were not on his level against Stoke otherwise it could have been a different result.

Fans on Twitter were also happy with Furlong’s outing and here is what they had to say:

In other West Brom news, Albion want to sign this Rangers mainstay.
