Nigel Quashie reacts to West Brom loss v Stoke, says what Albion need for promotion
Nigel Quashie has urged West Brom to dip their toes into the transfer market and welcome new signings to The Hawthorns before the January window closes.
Albion are yet to sign anyone this month but an alarming drop in form has seen the gap to third cut down to five points after failing to win in any of their last six Championship matches.
Monday night’s 1-0 defeat against Stoke City at The Hawthorns has proven to be a tipping point for some fans, who are afraid that Slaven Bilic will be unable to take the Baggies back to the Premier League unless new signings are made.
And that is a view that ex-West Brom player Quashie shared on social media after the awful performance against Stoke.
“It’s time to roll the sleeves up. These players have proven they are good enough and with new signings added this will show real intent on going back up,” said Quashie via his personal Twitter account before asking fans who the club should sign.
It is an interesting question that Quashie has posed.
West Brom’s strikers are misfiring at the moment, the defence is leaking goals and there is a major lack of creativity from the midfield.
Could every single area of Bilic’s squad do with a new face?
Grady Diangana’s latest injury setback is also something worth thinking about while the left-back slot is an issue with Nathan Ferguson’s future in doubt, Kieran Gibbs’ continual fitness problems and Conor Townsend’s poor form.
Bilic could sign a player in just about any position and have a justifiable reason for doing so.
In other West Brom news, fans raved about one player after the defeat to Stoke.
