Journalist claims West Brom duo ‘first cabs off the rank’ to replace missing Baggies pair

West Brom will be without attacking duo Matheus Pereira and Grady Diangana for at least the next three games.

Slaven Bilic will be missing the influential pair through injury and suspension after yet another defeat against Stoke City on Monday evening.

The Croatian will be scratching his head over potential replacements, starting with the FA Cup clash against West Ham on Saturday afternoon.

The Birmingham Mail journalist Joseph Chapman has revealed the Baggies duo that are most likely set to replace the absent pair.

“The loss of Grady Diangana and Matheus Pereira to injury and suspension respectively could barely have come at a more imperative time,” he wrote.

“Not many others in this Albion side get close to matching their skill, pace and eye for goal and in the case of Diangana it’s been painfully evident in recent weeks.

“Kyle Edwards and Filip Krovinovic would be the first cabs off the rank to slot in on the left and in the hole respectively.”

Krovinovic would be tasked with replacing the creativity of Pereira, but there are many doubts behind his ability to do that.

The Croatian has only averaged 0.8 key passes per game according to WhoScored, Pereira has completed nearly three times that amount in comparison.

Pereira has been involved in 15 goals this season already, 10 of those being assists, and his absence couldn’t have come at a worst time for the Baggies, who have only won once in the past couple of months.
