Ferguson sends West Brom defender four-word Twitter message after Friday announcement

West Brom confirmed on Friday that defender Dara O’Shea had put pen-to-paper on a new three-and-a-half-year deal at the Hawthorns.

Slaven Bilic admitted that he rates the Irish youngster very highly, claiming that the Baggies fans have a present in the future to look forward too.

The 20-year-old has completed 41 minutes of action in the Championship so far this season and recently completed 90 minutes in the FA Cup third-round victory over Charlton.

Baggies defender Nathan Ferguson clearly shares the same excitement as Bilic over the announcement. The right-back took to his personal Twitter account to send a message of congratulations to his fellow youngster.

“Congrats brother. Well deserved,” he wrote on Friday afternoon.

O’Shea will be looking to continue his weekend of good news by being given the nod to start against West Ham in the FA Cup fourth round at the London Stadium.

If O’Shea can jump onto the scene as well as Ferguson has done this season under Bilic, Baggies fans could be in for a treat with the Irish enforcer.

The 19-year-old has started 20 times this season in the Championship and has been a real miss in recent weeks after picking up an injury.

Darnell Furlong has stepped in, and although he hasn’t played badly, the Baggies haven’t won in six Championship fixtures. Either way, the future is looking bright in the Midlands.
