Report details chances of West Brom signing Orsic before Friday deadline
West Brom are extremely unlikely to sign Dinamo Zagreb attacker Mislav Orsic before the 11pm transfer deadline on Friday, according to the Birmingham Mail.
The newspaper claims that the chances of Albion striking a deal for the 27-year-old are “next to zero” despite Slaven Bilic publically admitting his interest in his fellow Croatian earlier this month.
West Brom moved to sign Callum Robinson on loan from Sheffield United earlier this week. Robinson is a left-sided winger who can also play up front as a striker, like Orsic.
Now, the Birmingham Mail claims that despite two bids being tabled for the Croatia international, Dinamo are expecting him to stay put until at least the end of the season.
Baggies fans have been excited by the possibility of signing Orsic ever since his name emerged as a transfer target for Bilic.
He has scored 19 goals in all competitions for Dinamo this season, with a bunch of those also coming in the Champions League, where he scored a hat-trick against Atalanta in the group stages.
West Brom have now added Robinson to their attack and it would seem as though Kamil Grosicki is also heading for The Hawthorns with reports saying the Hull winger is close to a permanent move.
Albion are unlikely to sign any more attacking players after Grosicki is snapped up.
In other West Brom news, Kevin Phillips is surprised by this Albion transfer decision.
