Journalist expects West Brom to make three switches v Luton, 25y/o ‘likely’ to come back in
West Brom welcome Luton Town to the Hawthorns on Saturday afternoon looking to put an end to their dreadful run of form.
The Baggies haven’t won a game in the Championship since the 3-2 victory against Birmingham in the middle of December – a run that has seen them drop to second.
Nottingham Forest are now only two points behind Slaven Bilic’s men, and three points against Luton would ease any fears growing in the stands.
Express and Star journalist Joseph Masi has delivered his verdict on the potential line-up Bilic could go with against the Championship strugglers.
He questioned a number of decisions made at the Cardiff clash, before suggesting that Conor Townsend, Semi Ajayi, and Darnell Furlong should come back in.
“At left-back, Conor Townsend was hugely unfortunate to miss out,” he wrote.
“Against Luton tomorrow – the side who have lost more games than any other Championship team this term – you’d expect Furlong and Townsend to be restored.
“Semi Ajayi is also likely to come back in at centre-half after being banned for the trip to Wales.”
Ajayi, 25, has been superb this season alongside Kyle Bartley. The defensive pair have been solid, and the Baggies suffered from that being torn apart at the Cardiff City Stadium.
The former Rotherham man was excellent in his last outing against Charlton – making three tackles and seven clearances, the best-combined total in any game this season according to WhoScored.
Bilic will no doubt bring much-needed solidarity at the back with Ajayi, but all that counts right now is three points.
