View: Sky Sports pundit’s comments on West Brom should send fear into rest of C’Ship
Sky Sports’ Don Goodman has claimed that West Brom have the best strength-in-depth in attacking areas in the entire Championship.
West Brom strengthened their grip on top spot in the league with a 2-0 victory over Millwall on Sunday, taking advantage of Leeds’ defeat against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
Goals from Filip Krovinovic and Dara O’Shea saw the Baggies stroll to victory, as we made it look easy during storm Ciara in the capital.
Goodman heaped praise on Metheus Pereira and Krovinovic, and also commented on how good new signing Kamil Grosicki looked during the win at The Den.
“The competition has not been lost on me in forward areas,” Goodman said live on Sky Sports.
“It’s as fierce as any club and Krovinovic and Pereira were both excellent today,” he told Sky Sports after the victory. When new signings come into a training room and they play in your position, it should inspire you. I think the performance levels of all those in the forward areas.
“The fact Matt Phillips was on the bench is another thing as well, Grosicki came on and looked fantastic. They’ve probably got the most strength-in-depth of any club in those forward areas in the Championship, by fair, I’d say.”
Bilic has certainly added some dangerous players to his squad this season alone. Callum Robinson, Grosicki, Charlie Austin, Grady Diangana, and Kenneth Zohore all moving to the Hawthorns since the summer.
It is hard to disagree with Goodman’s point, and in all honesty, the Baggies front line hasn’t hit the top of their game at all – something that could leave West Brom fans salivating at the potential for more goals.
Brentford currently have the most dangerous front line in the Championship, and they could do us a massive favour on Tuesday when they welcome Leeds to Griffin Park.
In other West Brom news, we believe this Baggies ace has cemented his spot in the side after another blinder v Millwall
