Darren Bent predicts where West Brom will finish, claims 21y/o could take them to promotion

Darren Bent has predicted that West Brom will finish as champions in the Championship this season.

The Sky Sports pundit has claimed that West Ham loanee Grady Diangana could be the player to guide the Baggies back to the Premier League.

Slaven Bilic has recently revealed that the 21-year-old will be out until atleast March, but Bent believes his return could be critical at the Hawthorns.

Bent also picked out Romaine Sawyers as one of the most influential players in the entire division who will certainly help their rise.

“Grady Diangana could be the man who takes them to promotion. I was surprised the winger was not recalled from his loan by West Ham United, to aid their battle with relegation,” he wrote in the Times.

“West Brom, who have won their past two games after a brief wobble, have enough experience and, in the midfielder Romaine Sawyers, they have one of the division’s most influential players.”

Diangana started the season superbly at the Hawthorns but has struggled since the beginning of December. The winger attempted to return from injury too quickly against Stoke in the past month, meaning he will be out for longer.

The 21-year-old scored five goals and assisted the same amount in his 21 appearances, completing 2.3 dribbles per game – the most in the entire squad [WhoScored].

The January additions of Kamil Grosicki and Callum Robinson may make it difficult for Diangana to earn his spot back, something that highlights the strength in depth that could make West Brom favourites to earn promotion.
