View: Two potential changes by Bilic – West Brom predicted XI v Reading
West Brom travel to Reading on Wednesday night as they aim to string together a third consecutive win and create further daylight between themselves and their Championship promotion rivals.
Leeds, Brentford and Nottingham Forest all dropped points on Tuesday night and if Fulham lose against Millwall on Wednesday, West Brom could see themselves move seven points clear of third-place if they can pick up three points at the Madejski.
However Berkshire has hardly been the happiest of hunting grounds for the Baggies in recent years with the Black Country side not winning an away game against the Royals since January 1995.
But West Brom have now won their last two Championship matches and the incentive of moving further ahead in the race for promotion could be the motivation the players need.
Slaven Bilic is predicted to keep changes minimal when he names his starting line-up for West Brom’s clash against Reading.
Albion play against Nottingham Forest on Saturday in a huge fixture at the top of the table and while it may be tempting to rest players ahead of that match, Bilic will no doubt want to maintain momentum more than anything.
But that does not mean he’s unlikely to make any changes at all as we expect the Baggies boss to start Darnell Furlong at right-back over Dara O’Shea and Charlie Austin may come in to replace Hal Robson-Kanu up front.
Sam Johnstone is bound to start in goals with Furlong, Semi Ajayi, Kyle Bartley and Conor Townsend lining up in the four-man defence ahead of him.
Jake Livermore and Romaine Sawyers are expected to start in the central midfield roles with Filip Krovinovic in the more advanced central position after his top-class display in the win over Millwall on Sunday.
Matheus Pereira is predicted to keep his spot on the right-hand side of the attack with January signing Callum Robinson on the left.
Robson-Kanu has scored just once in his last 11 Championship appearances and while his performances have still been decent, Bilic could take the trip to Reading to rotate his strikers and start Austin.
In other West Brom news, Gary Rowett has been raving about these three Albion stars.
