Done deal: West Brom confirm 18-year-old loan exit
West Brom have confirmed that youngster Jamie Soule has joined National League promotion hopefuls Barrow on loan.
Albion announced via their official website on Thursday that Soule, 19, has joined the non-league club on an initial one-month deal, which suggests that there is a chance the agreement could be extended.
Soule is one of the more highly-rated strikers in the West Brom youth set-up with the Cheltenham-born teenager scoring seven goals in 12 Premier League 2 appearances so far this season.
Albion’s technical director Luke Dowling is pleased to see Soule making progress in his development and claims that his loan move to Barrow will only help him.
“This is all part of Jamie’s development. Barrow are pushing hard for promotion back to the EFL and it will be an invaluable experience for Jamie to be involved,” said Dowling.
Soule is yet to make a senior appearance for West Brom but given the fact that he has been called up to the first-team by Slaven Bilic this season, suggests that he is someone who the Baggies are pushing hard to get the most out of.
Soule was an unused substitute in the 1-0 FA Cup win against Charlton last month and has been playing regularly for the Under-23s, despite only turning 19-years-old in November.
He is joining a side that are doing extremely well in the National League at the moment as Barrow sit top of their division, four points clear of second with a game in hand.
Helping them achieve promotion could be a huge boost to Soule’s development.
In other West Brom news, Dowling has confirmed how much the Baggies paid for Kamil Grosicki last month.
