‘Big asset’ – Slaven Bilic blown away by ‘massive’ West Brom addition

Slaven Bilic has admitted that he has been blown away by the loan signing of West Brom forward Callum Robinson.

The Baggies boss has claimed that the Republic of Ireland international has already begun to prove his worth at the Hawthorns, becoming a big asset to the Midlands club.

Bilic was particularly impressed with Robinson in the 2-1 victory at Reading on Wednesday, claiming his link-up play was pleasing on the eye.

“Massive,” he told the Express and Star when asked about the impact he has had.

“I don’t know how many shots he had (at Reading), what was it five? Six? That’s a lot. That’s why we wanted him in the summer also.

“He’s a direct player, he’s a winger, but he’s a winger that is always in the box, that’s what you want. When you have players like Krovinovic and Pereira who can release him, he’s very good at combining.

“He’s a big asset for us.”

Robinson has been superb, and Bilic is rightly delighted. The 25-year-old has been phenomenal and has been at the heart of everything positive the Baggies have done since he arrived.

His stats are incredible. Bilic pointed out the number of shots on goal he is having, and he has actually averaged 4.7 per game so far according to WhoScored – more than double the amount of anyone else in the entire squad.

That isn’t the only area he has been superb in. Robinson has also completed three key passes in each outing so far, also the highest amount in the squad.
