‘Unbelievably talented’ – Robinson waxes lyrical about West Brom ace who ‘speaks for himself’

Callum Robinson has taken to life at West Brom like a duck to water.

The 24-year-old, who joined the Baggies on loan from Sheffield United late in the January transfer window, scored his first goal for the club on Saturday in the 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest while also picking up Sky Sports’ man of the match award.

Since Robinson’s arrival, Albion have won three matches and drawn against a top-six promotion rival after going the previous seven games without a win.

It is clear that Robinson has made a huge impact for Slaven Bilic’s side.

When asked why he thinks he has started so well at The Hawthorns, Robinson could only speak highly of his new team-mates in the West Brom attack, who he seems to have clicked with instantly.

“I think when you are playing with good footballers, it’s easy,” Robinson said, as quoted by the Express & Star.

“Those players are all comfortable on the ball, they can take it in and I’m just really enjoying playing with them.

“I think we have got a bit of everything. Hal [Robson-Kanu] is our base up there.

“Matheus [Pereira] speaks for himself, he is an unbelievably talented footballer. And Filip [Krovinovic] is such a technically-gifted footballer as well and finds those passes. I have just been enjoying it.”

Before Robinson joined, not many West Brom fans would have predicted that an attack force of Pereira, Krovinovic, Robinson and Robson-Kanu would be the one that revives their form in the Championship.

Grady Diangana had been so central to Albion’s form before the festive period and his following injury issues while Matt Phillips has been a mainstay of the starting line-up since his arrival at The Hawthorns in 2016.

Krovinovic had also been struggling to impress West Brom fans until a sudden up-turn in his form, that has likely come due to a tweak in Bilic’s formation and Robinson’s arrival.

It is great to see them all playing so well together but what is also great to see is how well they all appear to have bonded off the pitch too.
