Stanley Asomugha has been told that he has no future at West Brom, according to Sunderland Under-23s coach Elliot Dickman.

Asomugha, 19, has been on trial with Sunderland and has played for their Under-23s in recent fixtures against West Ham and Newcastle.

Reading's Tyler Frost has also been on trial at the Stadium of Light and Dickman has revealed that both he and Albion attacker Asomugha have been made available by their clubs.

"They have been told by their parent clubs that they don't have a future there so they are trying to find something else, and the confidence might not be that high," said Dickman, as quoted by the Chronicle.

"Stan and Tyler Frost both played against West Ham and against Newcastle and they were both smashing.”

Asomugha has made seven appearances in Premier League 2 for West Brom's Under-23s this season, scoring two goals in the process.

However it seems as though that has not been enough to impress the coaches at The Hawthorns and the young attacker is now set to be shown the door in the summer.

The forward, who can also play out wide, has been on the books at the Baggies since he was 14-years-old and he is described on Albion's official website as a "quick and clever player who can score goals".

Sunderland have clearly been impressed by Asomugha with Dickman saying that he was "smashing" in his two appearances.

The League One side's Under-23s lost on both occasions when Asomugha started for them but still, it seems as though he might not find it difficult to find a new club once he is released by West Brom.
