These West Brom fans want club to sign Aston Villa 25-year-old in summer
It might be tempting fate a bit, but that hasn’t stopped a section of West Brom fans from saying that they would want to take players from Aston Villa in the summer if they are relegated and Albion go up.
As it stands, West Brom are top of the Championship and seven points clear of third-place while Villa are hovering just above the Premier League’s relegation zone with a one-point advantage over 18th-placed West Ham.
The season is by no means over yet and we have already seen how Albion can suddenly lose their advantage in the automatic promotion spots while Villa still have plenty of time to move away from the top-flight’s drop zone.
But there are still some West Brom fans who are thinking about the summer transfer window already and are naming the players they would like to steal from their West Midlands rivals.
One Aston Villa player who has been mentioned more than others is central midfielder John McGinn.
The 25-year-old has been out injured since mid-December but has still been one of the more impressive players at Villa Park this season, scoring three goals and supplying two assists in 20 appearances across all competitions.
He’s been one of the stand-out players under Dean Smith’s leadership and if Villa do get relegated, you would assume that a Premier League club would be quick to snap him up.
And these Albion fans are hoping that is what happens in the summer with their club.
