Matheus Pereira is set to become a permanent signing at West Brom next month with a clause in his loan contract close to being triggered.

According to the Telegraph, the 23-year-old will officially become a West Brom player after the Baggies take on Birmingham at The Hawthorns on March 14 as long as he plays for at least 45 minutes in each Championship match up until then.

It is understood that Albion will have to pay £8.25million to turn Pereira’s temporary deal at The Hawthorns into a permanent one – an absolute bargain considering his form this season.

Pereira has stood out as the best player in the Championship since joining West Brom from Sporting CP in the summer.

He’s scored six goals and supplied 16 assists in 30 total appearances and played a crucial role in helping the league-leading Baggies be where they are right now in the standings.

Our panel of West Brom Super Fans are delighted with the news that Pereira is close to joining permanently and here are their reactions:

It is not hard to see why everyone is excited about Pereira officially becoming a West Brom player next month.

He clearly has the talent to be able to play in the Premier League and if the Baggies do go up this season, they know they have someone in their squad who can play a vital role in the top-flight.

As one of the Super Fans pointed out, we need to make the most of Pereira while he is at The Hawthorns because it will not be long before the big clubs come along to try and snap him up.
