Jeff Stelling predicts scoreline for West Brom v Wigan
Jeff Stelling has predicted that West Brom will continue their good form by beating Wigan at The Hawthorns on Saturday.
Albion head into the game four points clear at the top of the Championship table having won 16 out of the last 18 available.
Wigan are also in decent form at the moment and could move out of the relegation zone this weekend if results were to go their way.
However Sky Sports News host Stelling cannot see past the Baggies in his prediction for this fixture.
He has tipped Slaven Bilic’s men to earn a narrow 2-1 victory over the Latics.
“Wigan always seem to cause problems to the bigger teams and earned a massive three points away at Reading through the week. West Brom will only care about the result though, and I think they will have just enough to get over the line,” said Stelling on the Super 6 website.
West Brom should be able to beat Wigan on Saturday but obviously, it is not as simple as that.
The Latics have been a bit of a bogey team for Albion in recent years, with the Black Country club winning just two of their last nine league meetings with them.
Earlier this season, Wigan held West Brom to a 1-1 draw at the DW Stadium and that led to a drop in form that Bilic’s side only recovered from this month.
The Baggies need to approach this game carefully because Wigan are fighting for their lives down at the bottom of the table and the Championship is such an unpredictable league.
In other West Brom news, Kevin Phillips claims this ex-Albion player has become a major force in Europe since exiting The Hawthorns.
