View: West Brom attacker has worst display for club in defeat v Wigan
West Brom suffered a shock defeat at the hands of Wigan Athletic at The Hawthorns on Saturday afternoon.
Sam Morsy’s second-half goal was enough to secure all three points for the Latics, who moved out of the Championship’s relegation zone with their deserved win.
West Brom were terrible from pretty much start to finish and the main reason for that was the high number of players who simply failed to perform.
One of those players was Matheus Pereira, who had his worst game in a West Brom shirt against Wigan.

The 23-year-old has been one of the stand-out players in the Championship this season but he had such little influence against Wigan.
According to stats by WhoScored, Pereira completed just one key pass against Wigan. In his last five appearances before Saturday, he averaged 3.6 a game.
The Brazilian also failed to complete a single dribble despite his season average being 1.5 per game.

Pereira seemed more intent on trying to win fouls than produce anything good on the ball.
If anything, he was trying too hard and that was so clear to see.
A section of West Brom fans on Twitter also aired their concerns about the Brazilian’s display:

Pereira was not at his best against Preston on Tuesday night but it was still a 2-0 victory for the Baggies and that maybe glossed over the fact he wasn’t quite at the races.
Maybe it is just tiredness and Pereira could do with a rest for a week.
Hopefully it is that and not him going completely off the boil at just the wrong time of the season.
Pereira is a fantastic player and no matter what happens between now and the end of the season, he has still been one of West Brom’s best players under Slaven Bilic and one of their best signings in recent years.
However he cannot afford to have more performances like that against Wigan.
It was painful to watch at times.
In other West Brom news, Kevin Phillips is sympathetic for this summer signing.
