This is part of a regular series from our panel of West Brom Super Fans. Each week, our Super Fans will deliver their verdicts on the biggest talking points and news stories around The Hawthorns.

West Brom’s run in the FA Cup came to a halt on Tuesday night as Slaven Bilic’s rotated side lost 3-2 at the hands of Premier League opposition in Newcastle United at The Hawthorns.

In total there were nine changes made to the starting line-up that took to the field against Wigan on Saturday with Bilic opting to rest of a number of his key first-team stars.

While we understand that winning promotion is the biggest priority for the club, you get the feeling that just one or two more fewer changes to the side would have resulted in a West Brom win over Newcastle.

Albion were on top for almost all of the second half with Matt Phillips and Kenneth Zohore both getting on the scoresheet after going 3-0 down.

Filip Krovinovic’s inclusion off the bench proved to be the catalyst for the Baggies in their attempted revival but it was all a bit of ‘too little, too late’.

Here, our panel of West Brom Super Fans have named their Saints and Sinners from the FA Cup fifth-round defeat.

Kyle Edwards, Phillips and Krovinovic were the three players who were widely hailed for their performances against Newcastle and that’s understandable.

Phillips looked dangerous throughout the match while Edwards grew into it slowly and supplied a superb assist for Zohore’s goal after a brilliant dribble.

Krovinovic’s impact off the bench definitely sparked Albion into life, but as mentioned, his introduction came too late.

As for the Sinners, the midfielders failed to impress our Super Fans with Gareth Barry getting a lot of criticism for his performance.

The 39-year-old, along with 35-year-old Chris Brunt, didn’t really play that well at all, which could be down to their age, recent fitness issues and lack of game-time.

One fan has pointed out Bilic as his Sinner, which is understandable as his team selection is perhaps what led to West Brom losing when they really could have beaten the out-of-form Magpies.

In other West Brom news, Darren Fletcher has criticised the Baggies support on Tuesday night.
