View: Bilic praise for key West Brom man implies one change to be made v Swansea

West Brom head coach Slaven Bilic has confirmed that the return of midfielder Romaine Sawyers will be a massive boost against Swansea City.

Sawyers has completed his three-match ban for the red card against Bristol City with Rekeem Harper deputising in his absence.

The Baggies will be looking to bounce back against Swansea after the shock 1-0 defeat to Wigan at the Hawthorns last time out.

Bilic admitted that the midfielder is instrumental for the Baggies, implying he will return to the starting line-up in Wales.

“It’s a massive boost,” he told the Express and Star.

“Romaine is an instrumental player for us. He’s the one that gives us balance. He’s like a metronome there.

“It’s great to have him back, especially as he’s hit good form. It’s a big boost for us.”

Harper did impress during the past month, but the reality is that Sawyers will slot straight back into midfield at the Liberty Stadium.

The 28-year-old is influential on the ball, and as Bilic says, he makes the side tick. Sawyers completes 64 passes per game on average, the most by nearly 15 in each outing according to WhoScored.

On top of that, he also has the best pass success rate with 90.2% of his passes reaching the intended target, he looks after the ball for the Baggies which allows us to dominate opponents and keep them on the back foot.
