Andy Couzens makes bold promotion prediction involving Leeds & West Brom
Andy Couzens has claimed that any side that finishes above West Brom in the Championship this season will earn promotion to the Premier League.
The former Leeds player admitted that the Baggies were the best side he has seen at Elland Road in this campaign under Slaven Bilic.
West Brom are currently one point behind the Whites and still hold a six-point gap to third-placed Fulham.
Couzens made the bold claim when discussing the promotion picture this season, claiming Fulham could be out of the race come this time next week.
“For me, West Brom are the best team that have visited Elland Road this season and they’ll come strong,” he told Football League World.
“If you finish ahead of them, you’ll be promoted this season.”
Now that may be true, but many Baggies fans will just want to be concentrating on themselves rather than the possibility of being overtaken.
With 27 points left available, Bilic’s men are edging towards promotion and all they can just keep picking up three points each week.
There have been many comments coming from the Baggies camp this week, with Jake Livermore insisting that the squad are fully concentrating on the league, and not the success that Leeds have had recently.
Couzens may be right, but all West Brom can do is continue winning and make sure that no one can finish above them this season.
