View: Player of the season scores 9/10 – West Brom player ratings for 19/20 campaign
This is part of a regular series from our panel of West Brom Super Fans. Each week, our Super Fans will deliver their verdicts on the biggest talking points and news stories around The Hawthorns.

West Brom have had one of their most impressive seasons in a long time with the team playing good football, winning games and sitting pretty in the automatic promotion spots for months.
Slaven Bilic has done a terrific job in charge of the Baggies since being appointed as manager in the summer and his squad of players have also impressed on a weekly basis.
Here, West Brom Super Fan Luke Pollard has rated the players out of 10 for their performances in blue and white stripes so far this season:
Sam Johnstone – 7
Has kept us in many games with his shot-stopping and his distribution to players is excellent, however is suspect for staying on his line.
Jonathan Bond – 5
No league appearances but did well in cup matches, although poor versus Newcastle.
Darnell Furlong – 8
Been out of the team in recent weeks due to the emergence of Dara O’Shea but has been a brilliant signing. Like to travel forward and link with Matt Phillips and isn’t afraid to get his head on the ball at either end of the pitch.
Semi Ajayi – 9
One of the contenders for player of the season. Bargain price at £1.5million. Calm and collected on the ball, very quick. Had a mini blip but no player is perfect. Very happy.
Kyle Bartley – 8
Much improved this season playing in a back-four. Another captain on the field commanding all around him. Has dipped off as of late and lost his place.
Nathan Ferguson – 7
Debut game and gets the MOTM award and didn’t look back. Now out of the team with an injury and not looking likely to play for West Brom again.
Dara O’Shea – 7
Naturally a centre-back, but has performed amicably at right0back since making his debut.
Ahmed Hegazi – 6
Sadly for Ahmed, but through no fault of his own, he hasn’t played enough games.
Conor Townsend – 8
Came into the starting XI and has never looked back, grown as each game has come. Wonderful left foot which has caused plenty of opposition problems, and a very good tackler.
Kieran Gibbs – 6
Sadly not seen much of Gibbo this season due to unfortunate luck with injuries, but when he does play you can undoubtedly see the talent he has.
Jake Livermore – 9
My choice for player of the season. A proper captain. Has a good relationship with Sawyers and a recent tweak in tactics is now causing him to press higher up.
Romaine Sawyers – 8
Vital cog in the midfield engine. You don’t realise what he brings to the team until he is missing. Always looking for that forward pass but if there isn’t one, he doesn’t panic and recycles the ball to start again.
Matt Phillips – 6
Hit and miss season for Matty. Started off on fire and at one point was our top scorer but he is a confidence player. Has lost his place in recent weeks but the FA Cup loss at home to Newcastle was like seeing the Phillips of old.
Matheus Pereira – 9
Happy to see him being made permanent, regardless of the current situation. A joy to watch, one of the best players to play in modern times. A steal for £9million.
Grady Diangana – 8
Part of the terrific twosome with Pereira, he was certainly missed during our awful run. But same as Gibbs, been unlucky with injuries.
Filip Krovinovic – 8
Started in the XI to begin the season, then became a bit part but has since come back in and excelled. Premier League player in the making. Sign him up.
Chris Brunt – 5
Only really had cup appearances, did well against West Ham but struggled versus Newcastle.
Gareth Barry – 4
Last season for him I think.
Rekeem Harper – 6
Spent a few games into the team in place of Sawyers and performed okay.
Kyle Edwards – 6
Started well by scoring in the first game and has played in a lot more games than last season. Hasn’t been around the squad as much now.
Kamil Grosicki – 6
Been a sub player but has shown glimpses of his skill and pace.
Callum Robinson – 8
Bright spark on the left, never afraid to take a player on and shoot from distance. A breath of fresh air.
Hal Robson-Kanu – 9
Like a man possessed. Now our top scorer with 10 league goals (a career first). One of the first name on the teamsheet. We got him on a free. We’re gonna win the league.
Charlie Austin – 7
He knows where the net is but cannot shift Robson-Kanu for a starting spot.
Kenneth Zohore – 5
Not had enough game time and probably fourth-choice striker.
