‘So many questions’ – Jamie Carragher opens up on PL suggestion for West Brom

Jamie Carragher has slammed suggestions that West Brom and Leeds United could enter a 22-team Premier League next season.

The Liverpool legend and Sky pundit admitted that teams such as Fulham would be left out in the cold in that outcome and they deserve the season to be concluded fairly.

The FA adjusted their rulings on Thursday to make sure that the leagues can be concluded past July to allow the season to go into the summer if needed.

Carragher believes that clubs and people could end up being sued, and the 22-team Premier League would create a massive mess.

“There was talk of the top two in the Championship going into the Premier League and then everyone’s happy and there are no relegations,” he said on Sky Sports’ Debate.

“Well, how would Fulham feel? I think they are only five or six points behind Leeds and West Brom.

“Leeds blew it last year when they were in the same position. There are so many questions really around if you stop the league now and we all take our positions. I just think the Premier League, the FA, or whoever it maybe there will be owners getting involved. People will be getting sued left, right and centre.

“I just think it’s going to be an absolute mess throughout the leagues.”

Backroom staff from both Leeds and West Brom have come out and admitted that they would like to see the season finished with only nine games left to play.

The Baggies have occupied the automatic promotion spots for the majority of the season, and although the Premier League suggestion would benefit them, there would be talk that could be unjustified.
