‘What happens to Leeds, West Brom?” – Sky pundit opens up on coronavirus suspension

John Barnes has opened up on the ongoing coronavirus suspension and what it could do to West Brom and Leeds United.

The Sky Sports pundit admitted that you can’t just hand the Premier League title to Liverpool as it could affect who goes up and gets relegated with the season not being finished.

There have been suggestions of a 22-team Premier League next season, but that has been put to bed with the FA adjusting their rulings to allow the campaign to finish later.

Barnes claimed that the best outcome is for the season to be completed, no matter how late it will continue into the summer.

“If you’re going to give Liverpool the title who will then get relegated and promoted?” he said on Sky Sports.

“You can’t just say, ‘Liverpool get the title because we’re so far ahead’ because then what happens to Leeds, West Brom and Fulham? And what happens to the three teams at the bottom of the Premier League.

“I think the best thing is to allow this season to take place, however long it takes.”

Bilic has also come out and admitted that he would like the season to be finished when it is safe to do so. The Croatian has seen his side lose top spot in the Championship in the past month with Leeds having hit some great form.

The Whites’ Angus Kinnear has also come out and addressed the situation that they would like the season finished, so expect that to happen once it possibly continues at the end of April.
