Report: West Brom to table bid for loan star if they win PL promotion
West Brom have decided that they will table a bid to sign Filip Krovinovic on a permanent basis from Benfica if they go up, according to A Bola.
At the moment, the Baggies’ promotion push is on pause due to the outbreak of the coronavirus in England but once the season can resume, Slaven Bilic’s side will be one of the favourites to go up to the Premier League.
It is understood that if Albion are able to secure Premier League status for next season then a bid will go in for Krovinovic, even though they are unsure of what the terms will be at this premature stage.
The 24-year-old has been super impressive for the Black Country club since the start of 2020.
A Bola reports that West Brom made their minds up about the Croatian playmaker after his display in the 1-0 win against West Ham in the FA Cup in January and will make an offer for him as soon as they can.
Most West Brom fans have also made their minds up on Krovinovic in the last few months too with the on-loan midfielder doing a superb join to keep the club’s promotion charge on track.
It’s been hard to not be impressed by Krovinovic since he became a mainstay of Bilic’s midfield in the absence of Grady Diangana.
Bilic’s switch from 4-2-3-1 to 4-3-3, with Krovinovic sitting in the central three, has been a huge factor in that.
Like Matheus Pereira, it will be interesting to see how the Croatian can perform in the Premier League after doing so well in the Championship.
In other West Brom news, Paul Merson has delivered his verdict on plans for a 22-team Premier League next season.
