View: West Brom promotion bid handed boost by reported EFL meeting
West Brom might be able to resume their bid to return to the Premier League in July after the EFL reportedly held a meeting on Saturday.
According to football.london, the EFL, Premier League and FA held a conference call with the government and a plan was agreed to reconvene the 2019/20 season in several months’ time.
It is understood that the plan is to play the remaining fixtures will be played between a period of four to six weeks behind closed doors.

While it is unfortunate that we won’t hear The Lord’s My Shepherd ring around The Hawthorns as Slaven Bilic aims to take the Baggies back into the top-flight, it is a far better outcome than nulling and voiding the entire campaign.
Before football was put on hold earlier this month, West Brom had opened up a six-point gap between themselves and third-placed Fulham.
Leeds are a point ahead of the Baggies with the two Championship powerhouses occupying the top-two spots almost all season.

Both teams deserve to go up based on what we’ve witnessed so far but playing the remaining nine fixtures for each team is the fairest way to go about this.
Of course, there are bigger things to worry about than football at the moment and we cannot accurately say when football may be able to resume.
But a date in July seems a lot more realistic than the previous dates in April that were mentioned by the Premier League and EFL.
In other West Brom news, Kevin Phillips says that this Albion player may move abroad in the summer.
