Nathan Ferguson’s move to Crystal Palace may have fallen through in January due to a failed medical but the Eagles remain confident of signing the West Brom youngster, according to the Express & Star.

Palace had agreed to sign Ferguson, 19, for £11million, plus a further £1million in add-ons before an issue with the full-back’s knee was flagged up during his medical.

Ferguson has since undergone surgery to fix his knee problem and Palace have remained interested in signing him.

It is understood that although Ferguson’s contract ends in the summer, West Brom can pocket a compensation fee for the defender.

And, as an £11million deal was agreed in January, Albion should expect to receive a similar amount if the youngster moves within England.

Unfortunately, if Ferguson moves abroad, West Brom would get less than £300,000 for the full-back but the Express & Star reiterates his desire to move to London.

We have asked our panel of West Brom Super Fans to share their verdict on the latest news about Ferguson’s future at The Hawthorns.

And they all seem to agree that anywhere near £11million would be good business for the inexperienced, injury-hit defender.

As you can see, everyone agrees that anywhere near £11million would be a good fee for West Brom to receive.

Just four years ago, Liverpool paid a record £6.5million compensation fee to sign Danny Ings from Burnley.

Palace would be almost doubling that if they have to pay £11million for Ferguson, so it would be a surprise if Albion pocketed anything more than £10million, considering his lack of experience.

Ferguson has only made 21 first-team appearances in his career and although he’s impressed in most of them, it’s going to be hard for Albion to negotiate a new record compensation fee.
