West Brom reach new agreement with Sporting CP over permanent Pereira deal – report
Sporting CP have agreed to let West Brom delay their first payment for Matheus Pereira’s permanent switch to The Hawthorns, according to the Express & Star.
Although Pereira, 23, is currently on loan in the Black Country, his permanent £8.25million switch to join the Baggies is as good as done already.
It is understood that Albion’s first payment for Pereira was due to be made on May 31, the date which the 2019/20 season was due to be completed.
However with coronavirus wreaking havoc on the football season, West Brom’s nine matches will not be completed by then.
The agreement with Sporting is now that once Albion do finish those nine matches, they will then transfer the first payment to the Portuguese club.
West Brom fans are still asking about Pereira’s permanent move to The Hawthorns but they really do not need to worry about it.
From everything we’ve gathered, the deal is done already but it won’t be officially completed just yet.
It’s a matter of when and not if but you can understand fans’ concerns simply because of how good the Brazilian attacker has been for the Baggies this season.
In other West Brom news, Kevin Phillips has hailed Baggies owner Guochuan Lai.
