West Brom not among clubs calling for transfer embargo on rivals – reliable journalist
West Brom are unconcerned by some of their Championship rivals deferring player wages during the coronavirus-enforced suspension of the 2019/20 season.
The Telegraph had reported that Preston and West Brom were among a number of clubs who want transfer bans placed on those who are cutting costs at the moment.

Championship leaders Leeds United were one of the first clubs to defer the wages for their playing squad and although it seemed like a move they made to ensure non-playing staff would continue to be paid as normal, it has attracted criticism from some quarters.
Although the Telegraph named West Brom as one of the clubs who took an issue with player wage deferrals, Express & Star journalist Joseph Masi has since reported via his personal Twitter account that it isn’t the case.
We are glad that the Telegraph were wrong to name Albion as one of their clubs because we can understand why clubs like Leeds would defer player wages.
It is not as though it is handing them any kind of advantage because they will have to pay that money back to their players once all of this has blown over.
In other West Brom news, Kevin Phillips believes Albion could release Kieran Gibbs next year.
