‘Magnificent’ – Sky pundit praises West Brom talent who has been ‘massive plus-point’ in 19/20
Lee Hendrie has praised Grady Diangana for his “magnificent” form for West Brom this season.
The West Ham loanee has made a big impact in the midlands during his time with the Baggies, hitting five goals and six assists in 21 Championship appearances.
And according to Hendrie, the 22-year-old’s eye-catching displays have led to veteran Albion midfielder Gareth Barry backing him to reach the top of the professional game.
Speaking to Sky Sports News, Hendrie said: “I think it [Diangana’s loan] was a massive move for both West Brom and Grady himself.
“You look at the stature of player they have there and I think that ticks all the boxes for Grady, West Ham and West Brom. When you’ve got that blend of players it’s only going to bring him on.
“I had a good chat with Gareth Barry about him and he says that he’ll go on and play at the top. They adore him at West Brom and I think they’d love to keep hold of him but the situation with West Brom potentially going up and West Ham potentially going down, he could see himself back in the Championship.
“He’s been magnificent, easy on the eye and a massive plus-point for West Brom.”
Diangana has been superb this term, and has routinely been a standout performer for the Baggies.
In fact, he’s been so good that he will be sorely missed when he leaves, provided we can’t find a way of keeping hold of him next season.
And Hendrie isn’t only pundit to have lavished praise on the wide man in recent weeks.
Darren Bent has predicted that Diangana can do “big things” in the top flight, while former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Michael Brown has claimed that he is “unplayable at times”.
Anybody who has seen the winger torment Championship full-backs all season can attest to that, and his pace, trickery, and end product in the final third have made him one of the most dangerous attacking threats in the division this term.
