‘100%’ – John Percy details how West Brom want 19/20 season to be decided

West Brom are “100 per cent determined” to complete the 2019/20 season by playing their remaining nine matches, according to Telegraph journalist John Percy.

The newspaper reporter claimed via his personal Twitter account on Thursday afternoon that the Baggies are keen to win promotion on the pitch, rather than the season being called to a halt early and the points-per-game system being applied.

West Brom, as well as Leeds, would be promoted to the Premier League if the season is ended now and PPG is applied but it seems that Albion want to win promotion the right way and that is by playing whatever games they have left to play.

Slaven Bilic’s side still have clashes against Birmingham, Hull, Derby, Fulham and QPR to play at The Hawthorns while away trips to Brentford, Sheffield Wednesday, Blackburn and Huddersfield will await the Baggies once the season resumes.

As it stands, West Brom are sat in second and are six points clear of Fulham.

If the season does resume then the safest place to put your money would be on them and Leeds to win promotion with the two sides being by far the best in the Championship over the course of the season.

However, this is the Championship and anything can happen.

We’re surprised that Albion aren’t leaning towards supporting the use of PPG to seal their promotion.
