Reliable journalist shares West Brom testing update after EFL confirm COVID-19 test results
No West Brom players or staff members have tested positive for coronavirus after the second round of testing was completed, according to The Athletic journalist Steve Madeley.
On Thursday morning, the EFL announced that a further 1,030 players and staff have been tested for COVID-19 and three of them have tested positive.
Fulham have since confirmed that two of their players have tested positive while the other case is yet to be disclosed.
Madeley has reported on his personal Twitter account that the third coronavirus case is not at West Brom.
A lot of people were pointing the finger at Hull City at the weekend when they confirmed two of their employees had tested positive for coronavirus.
Hull have sent letters out to the EFL and their Championship rivals in a bid to get the season curtailed early as they do not believe they should be made to play on.
However Hull are just above the relegation zone and have a lot to lose if the season resumes and will benefit massively if the points-per-game model is applied at this stage.
But Fulham are third in the Championship, six points behind second-placed West Brom and they will no doubt want the season to resume so they can try to catch up with the Baggies and leaders Leeds.
Since this story was published, Blackburn Rovers have confirmed captain Elliott Bennett has tested positive.
In other West Brom news, BBC One are set to air a documentary featuring the Baggies tonight.
