‘Sign him up’, ‘Bargain’: Some West Brom fans urge club wrap up reported £8.9m swoop this summer

West Brom fans have urged the club to make a move to land Filip Krovinovic on a permanent deal this summer.

The 24-year-old arrived on loan from Benfica last summer, and has registered 34 appearances for Baggies across all competitions.

According to Portuguese outlet Record, a fee of around £8.9 million could be enough to secure a switch in the coming months, and Albion supporters are eager for the club wrap things up.

Any potential deal will likely depend on whether or not West Brom go up, but it is understood that if promotion is sealed in the coming weeks that the club are eager to push ahead with a move.

It’s not hard to see why either.

The Croatian has been brilliant during most of his debut season in England.

Admittedly, it took him a while to get going, and despite the fact that he registered two assist in his first five Championship matches, he was largely consigned to a bit-part role until January.

But since the turn of the year he has been superb, and has kept Matt Phillips out of the side with his impressive form.

Krovinovic has a pass completion rate that is 14.1% higher than his colleague, as well as having a superior crossing accuracy rate, and a total action success rate that eclipses Phillips’ by 17.7%, as per Wyscout.

Based on what we’ve seen of him this season, £8.9 million feels like an absolute steal, especially if we are able to bankroll a move with the substantial financial reward that comes with promotion to the top flight.

Since his breakthrough into the starting XI earlier this term he has looked like a ready-made Premier League talent, and snapping him up is an absolute no-brainer, especially at that price.
