Paul Robinson shares what was ‘Ridiculous’ about former West Brom team-mate Robert Koren

Paul Robinson has named a best XI of players he played with in his career and it is made up entirely of his former team-mates at West Brom and Watford.

The 41-year-old spent seven years on the books at The Hawthorns between 2003 and 2010, earning 234 appearances across all competitions and winning two promotions to the Premier League with the Baggies.

Robinson has now looked back on his career to rave about some of his former team-mates, including ex-Albion midfielder Robert Koren.

As quoted on Watford’s official website when speaking about Koren, ‘Robbo’ said: “An exceptional talent. He was a creative midfield player who scored a lot of goals, but his work-rate was ridiculous. He would always be up there in training as the best runner.”

West Brom’s midfield during Robinson’s spell at The Hawthorns was insanely good for a Championship club and that is why there are four ex-Albion midfielders in his team.

As well as Koren, Chris Brunt, Jonathan Greening and Zoltan Gera made the midfield while Kevin Phillips, who played for the Baggies and Watford, was Robinson’s pick for the striker role.

We can’t say we know too much about the Watford players who Robinson has included but it is a surprise that Darren Moore didn’t get included.

In other West Brom news, David Prutton has been raving about this “phenomenal” striker after he was linked with Albion.
