Romelu Lukaku & Ben Foster post messages on Twitter as West Brom confirm Chris Brunt to exit
West Brom have confirmed that Chris Brunt will end his 13-year spell at The Hawthorns at the end of the season when his contract expires.
Brunt, 35, is one of only 16 players to appear over 400 times for the Baggies and his exit is one that has bound to hit hard with fans as it’s likely they will never get to see him play for the club in person again due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Brunt has been through a lot during his spell at The Hawthorns but he will always be remembered for helping the club to two promotions and the countless number of amazing goals he has scored with that wand of a left foot. Who can forget Everton away?
Former Albion stars Ben Foster and Romelu Lukaku have since paid tribute to Brunty after seeing that he’ll be leaving the club soon.
Watford goalkeeper Foster wrote: “What a ledge. But what a left foot though.”
Inter Milan striker Lukaku responded to Foster’s tweet by saying: “Honestly! Pure class.”
We are gutted that Brunt will be leaving West Brom once the season finishes but we cannot pretend as though it wasn’t coming as the Northern Irishman almost left in the January transfer window to join Stoke.
Brunt is the closest thing the Baggies will have to a legend in these times and we are going to miss him a lot.
We do wish him the best in his next adventure though, even if it is at Stoke.
