Former West Brom players have been reacting to the news that Chris Brunt will leave The Hawthorns at the end of the season when his contract expires.

On Thursday, Albion announced that Brunt, 35, will be ending his 13-year association with the Baggies and will try to find himself a new club ahead of next season.

Ben Foster and Romelu Lukaku have already reacted to the news on Twitter but more ex-Albion players have been paying tribute to the outgoing Northern Irishman on Instagram.

Among them are Jonathan Greening, Jonas Olsson and Borja Valero.

Valero and Greening both called Brunt a “legend” while former Swedish defender Olsson simply posted a crown emoji.

Former academy stars Adil Nabi and Morgan Rogers also reacted to the Instagram post as well as Nathan Ferguson, who could be joining Brunt in exiting the Baggies this year.

Brunt has had an impact on the career of all of these players, especially the younger ones who will have no doubt looked up to him.

Every player rising through the ranks of the Albion academy should be hoping to become the next Brunt. He’s one of only 16 players to have made more than 400 appearances for  West Brom and has won two promotions, including one Championship title.
