‘Taught Mo Salah everything’ – Some West Brom fans react to training ground video of ‘class act’

West Brom fans have taken to social media to react to a stunning training ground strike from centre-back Ahmed Hegazi.

The Baggies posted a behind the scenes video to their official Twitter account of the defender scoring a long-range screamer in shooting practice, and it’s easy to see why many supporters were so taken aback.

The 29-year-old has struck just three goals in 97 outings for Albion over the course of his career, and none of them have been anywhere near as special as this.

One fan on Twitter suggested that the towering Egyptian must have taught compatriot Mo Salah everything he knows, and it’s easy to see why.

Hegazi takes a smart touch, shapes his body nicely, and then crashes a thunderous drive right into the top bracket.

In truth, he could probably try this one 100 times and he’d probably miss on 99 occasions.

It’s no exaggeration to suggest that he is almost 30 yards out from goal, and the goalkeeper has absolutely no chance of stopping it.

The big question is, why has he never pulled this kind of strike out of the bag in a match situation?

As shown in the graph above, as per Wyscout, Hegazi has had just three shots on goal this season for West Brom, and not a single on of them has been on target.

On the basis of this new footage from the training ground, however, perhaps he should be encouraged to have a crack on goal a little more often when Albion do get back into action.

Here are some of the best reactions from supporters on social media.
