
View: Sky Sports graph highlights how much West Brom & Leeds deserve promotion
Now that matters have been settled off the pitch in the Championship, all eyes are set on the remaining nine fixtures of the season.
Who will be relegated? Who will finish in the play-offs? Most importantly, which two sides are going to earn automatic promotion?
Leeds and West Brom have occupied the top two spots for the majority of the season, and the Baggies currently hold a six-point gap to Fulham in third.
Sky Sports have released a report previewing the final month of the Championship, looking into the promotion race in particular.
Interestingly, their report includes a graph which shows the progression of the table from matchday one to now (click on the link to view it in motion).
Since October, no side has been in the top-two other than West Brom and Leeds – a massive sign of who deserves promotion the most.
With Fulham having one of the hardest remaining fixture lists too, they could well be out of the running before they know it.
The Mirror released a report with the average remaining position of each club’s remaining opponents, and it looks very good for Leeds and West Brom.
Both clubs deserve to be in the positions they are and have dominated in each area of the Championship.
West Brom spend the least amount of time in their own third, whereas Leeds keep the most possession in the division convincingly – both signs that they are constantly attacking the opposition [WhoScored].
The table doesn’t lie, and this graph certainly proves just how much the Baggies deserve to earn automatic promotion this season.
