View: West Brom youngster ‘almost certain’ to leave could be given final chance by Bilic
With nine Championship games to play in less than five weeks, West Brom and other clubs will be expecting more injuries than usual.
The EFL are expected to allow clubs to extend their matchday squad to 20 as well as giving permission for five substitutions to be made per game.
Slaven Bilic will need every single player in his squad to play a part, with the likes of Gareth Barry, Chris Brunt and Jack Fitzwater all returning to training.
The Athletic has reported that Fitzwater is almost certain to leave the Hawthorns at the end of the season once his contract expires.
Coming back from Walsall, the 22-year-old is expected to provide cover for the likes of Kyle Bartley, Semi Ajayi and Ahmed Hegazi.
It is suggested that he would only feature in the event of an injury crisis at the Hawthorns, and even then it is unlikely.
Given that he is almost certain to leave, Fitzwater is likely to not feature but if that chance does arise, he will be doing everything in his power to prove he still has a future at the club.
Fitzwater has captained the under-23s on many different occasions this season in the Premier League 2, but that doesn’t look to have helped him in securing a future at the club.
Looking to the future, we certainly believe that the 22-year-old will be heading for the exit door regardless of if he features or not.
