West Brom feature on MUTV tomorrow – but not warm-up matches v Man United

West Brom will reportedly play two warm-up matches against Manchester United at Old Trafford tomorrow (Friday) but it does not appear as though the match will be broadcasted live on MUTV.

After the Telegraph reported that Albion will play against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side this week, a number of fans took to Twitter to say that the game should be aired on Man United’s pay-to-view television channel MUTV.

However, as suggested by MUTV’s schedule for tomorrow, there are no plans for the Premier League club to broadcast their two hour-long matches against West Brom.

The Baggies will feature on MUTV tomorrow though.

At 7am on Friday, West Brom’s clash against United at The Hawthorns in the 2011/12 will be shown for MUTV subscribers.

United won 2-1 against Roy Hodgson’s Albion courtesy of a late own goal by Steven Reid.

Wayne Rooney had put the Red Devils ahead early on before Shane Long scored his first goal in blue and white stripes when his shot was fumbled into the back of the net by David De Gea.

It is strange that Manchester United would decide to re-live this match compared to some of the other classics played between them and Albion over the years.

No one will have forgotten the 5-5 match at The Hawthorns in 2013 when Romelu Lukaku’s hat-trick lit up Sir Alex Ferguson’s final game in management.

United also beat the Baggies 4-0 and 5-0 in the 2008/09 season if they want to show a win against us but we would rather see the classic 5-3 Albion win at Old Trafford in 1978 – a game so good it has it’s own Wikipedia page.

Tony Brown, Len Cantello, Cyrille Regis and Laurie Cunningham all scored in what was one of the greatest games in the history of English football.

In other West Brom news, Albion are set to play two matches against Premier League opposition this week.
