View: West Brom fans could be back at Hawthorns sooner rather than later after update

The Sun has revealed that EFL chiefs are working overtime to make sure that limited fans can return to stadiums as early as September.

Some West Brom fans could be back at the Hawthorns sooner rather than later, with a working group put together to conjure up a plan.

Senior club officials and medical staff are involved in these meetings, with the government having the final decision.

The report from the Sun claimed that fans could be allowed to occupy 25% of grounds, something which could be replicated by the Premier League.

With promotion hopes high around the Baggies camp with only nine games left to go in the Championship, fans will want to know if these plans affect the top-two tiers.

It is suggested that behind-the-scenes, progress has been made with matchday revenue being seen as essential to keep some clubs afloat.

The Sun gave an insight into Premier League plans, who also want fans back as quickly as possible.

There is a difference in the top-flight though. The television deals available to those clubs mean that they can financially survive until the pandemic is over.

West Brom fans will be hoping that once they return there club is in the Premier League, that may mean that they are kept away from the Hawthorns for a longer period though.
