Marcus Rashford shares five-word Twitter verdict on West Brom friendly clash v Man United

Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford has taken to Twitter to claim that he “loved every minute” of playing against West Brom on Friday afternoon.

The Baggies travelled to Old Trafford to take part in two 60 minute friendlies against the Reds as they continue their preparations for next weekend’s Championship clash against Birmingham City.

While the matches were subject to a media blackout, The Telegraph reporter John Percy has since reported that Albion won one match 2-1, and lost the other 3-1.

While there have been no concrete pointers on what lineups the Baggies put out on Friday, the Manchester Evening News report that the Reds fielded two sides that included a good mix of ability and experience.

It is understood that Rashford lined up alongside the likes of Paul Pogba, Bruno Fernandes, and Anthony Martial.

Taking to Twitter after the match, the England hitman posted a number of photos alongside the caption: “Loved every minute of it…”

It’s starting to get more and more real with every passing update – football is finally coming back.

It feels like an eternity since we last saw the Baggies in action, but this time next week we will be on the cusp of a long-awaited return.

Pleasingly, it seems as if Bilic’s men are playing okay too.

Obviously, you can’t glean too much from such irregular friendly matches, but certainly you would have to argue that a 2-1 win over Manchester United under any circumstance counts as a positive result.

Factor in last week’s 2-2 draw against Aston Villa, and it feels as if West Brom are giving a good account of themselves against top flight opposition.

Of course, the proof will be in the pudding when we face Birmingham next week, but for now, we should be relatively optimistic.
