‘The best’, ‘By a country mile’ – Many West Brom fans react to training footage of Baggies star
West Brom keeper Sam Johnstone could say that he is targeted by fans when things aren’t going right at the Hawthorns.
The stopper has been accused of not commanding his area well at times and making mistakes, despite Slaven Bilic’s men sitting comfortably second in the Championship.
It is guaranteed, without injury, that Johnstone will keep his spot in the final nine games of the season and has been working visibly hard in training recently.
West Brom posted a video of the stopper on their official Twitter account on Friday, showing the 27-year-old being put through his paces.
The Baggies have been training frequently at the Hawthorns in preparation for the restart, mainly to acclimatise to the behind-closed-doors style awaiting them next week.
Johnstone was collecting crosses, as well as testing his reflexes with shots being bounced of trampolines to simulate ricochets and similar matchday experiences.
Many West Brom fans flooded to the video, with the majority calling out those who have targeted the keeper in recent times as he continues to look sharp.
The majority are behind Johnstone, with one making the bold claim that he is the best keeper in the division by a country mile – one thing for certain, we hope that he won’t be involved in that argument next season.
