View: West Brom could get bargain deal for loan ace, journalist details possible negotiations
West Brom playmaker Filip Krovinovic was just starting to impress at the Hawthorns before the enforced lockdown throughout England.
The Benfica loanee has continued that into the break too, with the Croatian scoring a great curling effort in the 2-2 draw against Aston Villa recently.
There have been some question marks around Krovinovic’s future, with there not being an option-to-buy in his loan deal.
The Athletic’s Steve Madeley has revealed that Krovinovic, West Brom and Benfica are all happy to turn his move to the Hawthorns a permanent one.
It is detailed that the only sticking point of a potential deal is that the Portuguese club wants £10million, a figure that West Brom aren’t happy to pay.
Even with the playmaker’s upturn in form, Slaven Bilic believes he hasn’t justified an eight-figure fee.
Thankfully, he isn’t considered a part of Benfica’s plans and they could be open to negotiations in the summer.
Bilic has a wealth of attacking options available to him, and that could be the difference between automatic promotion and the playoffs this season.
The 24-year-old averages over two shots a game according to WyScout, as well as just below 50 passes in each outing.
Compare that to Pereira who attempts more shots, but completes nearly 10 fewer passes per game and it may be harsh to complain about the Croatian.
With Benfica open to negotiations, West Brom could definitely get a bargain deal out of the Portuguese club as they hopefully prepare for Premier League football in the summer.
